DUNS TEW POTTERY

Duns Tew Pottery is based in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside in the picturesque village of Duns Tew. The potter, Diana Sainsbury, works in stoneware. Her aim is to produce an extensive range of pieces which are both useful and beautiful. The pots are hand-thrown on an antique Leach-type wooden kick-wheel, then dried, bisque-fired to 1000 degrees Celsius, glazed, and finally fired to around 1220 degrees Celsius. The high firing temperature makes the ware very tough and durable.

Duns Tew Pottery is not open to the public, but its pottery can be found at a wide range of venues - see Where to Find Us page.
